Rain, then stormy wind –
Handy and tricky in turn ~
Folding tarpaulins.
Rain pounds my windows –
A comforting sound at night ~
Except for the leak.
The morning shower –
A slight pause for reflection ~
Warm rain on the ear.
‘Tis a fine deluge – Your darkness is now confirmed ~ The leaves will come back.
Those sunny moments – Will be lost ~ gone in no time ~ Like burgers in rain.
(With apologies to Roy Batty)
That soil earth shock smell – Rain that’s somewhat overdue ~ She’s holding my hand.
Scarecrow, in the rain – Soaked to the core ~ still smiling – Issa would be proud.
Jasmine’s heady scent – Soaking sleepy spider’s web ~ Amplified by rain.
